We’re absolutely delighted to welcome our fourth summer signing, as England U23 international Tom Gascoyne becomes our new number 4 for the 2019/20 FA National Futsal Series.
Gazza joins after a successful couple of seasons just down the A52 at the University of Nottingham and follows fellow England youngsters Ollie Whaley and Liam Hunt in committing to DFC for the NFS this season.
With that sweet left foot and lots of experience from his time at UoN and Loughborough before that, the 23 year old is going to be a big hit with his teammates and supporters alike.
Here’s what Matt Hardy, Head of Futsal, had to say:
“I’m absolutely delighted to confirm Tom as a DFC player. He brings a wealth of experience for a 23 year old, a tremendous amount of ability and a really great character to our squad.
“He’s trained with us for the last month and has settled in really well and I think we’ve all known for a while that this was the right move for him, so it’s just been a matter of when rather than if, we would get things confirmed once Tom had sorted a few things out with his university studies, which obviously have to take priority.
“He’s another player who adds quality and depth to our squad, something that me and Sam felt we lacked towards the end of last season. To be adding the calibre of player that we are though is really exciting and everyone at the club is itching to get started”.
