The Ladies have also been busy, welcoming new head coach James Coyne, and adding six players to the ranks.

Coyne has recently been awarded his UEFA B Licence in Coaching Futsal, and has plenty of experience coaching youth futsal in Leicestershire. Becoming Head Coach of our Ladies will be his first experience of coaching the adult game. The club are delighted to welcome him onboard after a positive first few weeks with the team.

The strong ties between the club and the University of Derby Women’s Futsal came to fruition once again, with the addition of three of the university’s first team players joining on. Stella Bredgaard, Megan Cox, and Katie Mitchell have all made their debuts in January, with Cox particularly impressive in between the sticks. The trio join six of their current university teammates in the squad.

More local links have also brought about the signings of Lizzie Pacey and Rachel Weaver, who both play football for Pride Park FC. Both players have previous futsal experience, playing for the University of Derby and University of Leeds respectfully. Weaver bagged a goal on her debut against Kent United.

The club are also delighted to welcome Courtney Orr, who has plenty of sporting experience, playing both football and rugby to a high level.
