“We know what we have to do to produce on the day.” Derby v Liverpool Preview

By Paddy Finnemore

Derby futsal will be hoping to continue their 100% record this weekend against Liverpool at St Georges Park.

A 4-2 victory against Sunderland and a derby day 3-1 win against Nottingham have set a good marker for Derby Futsal for the rest of the season.

Jez Poulson, Derby keeper says the build-up for Sundays game has been good: “We’ve had a good couple of training sessions, working on what we need to improve on. Defensively we have been good, we are still working on our attacking play.”

Poulson isn’t expecting an easy victory: “It is going to be another tough game, we have seemed them play, we know what we have to do to produce on the day.”

As well as the game being a big occasion, Derby Futsal are hosting the Gameweek, all four national futsal series games will be held at St Georges Park the home of England Futsal. Poulson is looking forward to it: “Yeah it is a great venue for us to play on, a bigger pitch which will hopefully suit our play, we played there for the summer showdown, so we’ve got experience being there and hopefully a home crowd will be there which will be good.”

It is a good chance for Derby to get all 3 points and to remain unbeaten and Poulson is confident: “Yeah we’ve got off to a good start, two wins but we can’t get complacent, we’ve got to go out there and perform we know that and as a team, we know what our duties are we’ve got to go out there on Sunday and perform as a team.”

Poulson and the lads will be looking to make it 3 wins out of 3 on Sunday. Make sure you come and support the lads by getting yourself a ticket and coming down to St Georges Park on Sunday for a 4 o’clock kick-off.
